The Typhoon-VDV K-4386 is a 4×4 mine resistant ambushprotected (MRAP) wheeled armoured vehicle designed and manufactured byRemdiesel, a subsidiary of Kamaz. It is the newest member of the Typhoon familyof armoured vehicles.

The Typhoon K-4386 has been designed to support combatmissions, crew transportation, logistics, cargo transport, medical support, andother intense armoured offensive strikes. It is based on the KamAZ-53949 and shares angled undersides, protective seatsand the use of composite materials.  TheK-4386 adds a large Remote Control Weapons Station (RCWS) with 30mm auto-cannonalong with a coaxial machine gun on one side and grenade launchers on eitherside of the main weapon.  As well as themine protection, the windows are all bullet-proof, with seating for five in thepassenger compartment and three crew.  TheTyphoon is capable of 80mph on metalled surfaces, with adjustable heightsuspension allowing a relatively high speed over rougher terrain, assistingwith infiltration and exfiltration operations immensely.  This variant isfor the Russian airborne forces.
